The book is part the group’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2018

Led Zeppelin has announced Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, the first and only ficial illustrated book to be produced in collaboration with the members the band. The 368 page hardback book will be released in October 2018 and was authored by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. It is available for pre-order through the publisher’s website.

“Celebrating 50 years since their formation, it covers the group’s unparalleled musical career and features photographs Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham on and fstage, in candid moments and in the recording studio,” the book’s publisher Reel Art Press writes. “This definitive 368-page volume includes unseen photographs and artwork from the Led Zeppelin archives and contributions from photographers around the world.”

The book is one many projects guitarist and co-founder Jimmy Page has confirmed is coming in celebration the group’s 50th milestone. Page confirms unheard Zeppelin music will also be released.

“There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven’t heard because I’m working on that,” Page states in an interview last year with the Academy Achievement. “Next year will be the fiftieth year so there’s all manner surprises coming out.”

No word on what music will be released as Page has previously stated much the studio material the band recorded was used on the companion discs each their nine studio albums that were reissued between 2014-2015.

The band’s label, Warner Music Group (WMG), is prepping “a series high-prile events” for the group’s 50th anniversary in 2018. In September, Tim Fraser-Harding, President, Global Catalogue, Recorded Music, submitted a letter to support a proposed statue drummer John Bonham in his hometown ch, England stating the label plans which include an “extensive outreach to media and fans worldwide” for celebration. The proposed statue Bonham in is planned to be installed for what would have been Bonham’s 70th birthday on May 31, 2018, with Fraser-Harding wanting the event to be apart the group’s milestone celebration.

Last week, the group announced that their reissue campaign will continue with the updated release the live album, How The West Was Won, on multiple formats on March 23rd Atlantic/Swan Song. The project will make its debut on vinyl and Blu-ray Audio which will contain a hi-res 5.1 surround sound mix. Originally released in 2003, the album features newly remastered audio done under the supervision Jimmy Page.

Versions include a remastered triple CD; remastered audio on four 180-gram vinyl LPs; Blu-ray Audio with 96kHz/24 bit 5.1 (DTS-HD Master Audio Surround) and stereo mixes (PCM Stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo); streaming & digital downloads along with a Super Deluxe Boxed Set that includes the three remastered CDs and four LPs, DVD album in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and PCM Stereo, plus photo gallery, High-def download card all stereo audio content at 96kHz/24 bit, book filled with rare and previously unpublished photos the band at each the concert locations, plus memorabilia and ephemera, and high-quality print the original album cover, the first 30,000 which will be individually numbered.
