A$AP Ferg connected with his Mob brother at the top of May for his first single of 2019 with "Pups," and just one week later, Ferg and A$AP Rocky stay true to their gritty NYC roots for the underground visual, released on Thursday (May 16). The clip was directed by both Mob frontmen in collaboration with Shomi Patwary.
Imagine a combination of a rave and punk show, but one where it's totally normal to bring your dog along for the night. That's what Ferg and Rocky created for the riotous "Pups" flick. After hitting the stage taking the barking atmosphere at the venue to another level, the Harlem icons enter the rowdy mosh pit and join the fun.
The neon-tinged video is packed with nostalgia, which is only right considering the heavy sampling of DMX's "Get At Me Dog." "Pups" is slated to appear on Ferg's upcoming Concrete Chandeliers EP.
"The project is about being from the hood, but having a intellectual mindset and going out and getting elegant things and doing elegant projects," The Still Striving rapper explained to Beats 1.
