Although there was an agreed settlement, Evan Rachel Woods wasted no time in speaking out on Twitter to acknowledge the death of the late NBA legend, once news broke of his passing.

“What has happened is tragic,” Evan begins. “I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family. He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously.”

Vanessa Bryant has been holding down the legacy of Kobe since his passing, and it’s safe to say that she did not find this tweet pleasing. “Your false, insensitive, defamatory, and slanderous tweet on 1/26/20 is vile and disturbing, to say the least,” wrote Vanessa. “Behavior like this is part of the reason why innocent black men go to jail for crimes they didn’t commit. An accusation doesn’t make someone guilty.”

“YOU DON’T KNOW THE FACTS OF THE CASE,” she added.

While Evan’s comments were distasteful and insensitive, we wish healing and peace over Vanessa Bryant who has had her fair share of support and negativity throughout this tough journey of losing her husband. January 26th, 2021 marked one year since the passing of the late Kobe Bryant and daughter, Gianna Bryant.
