SOURCE SPORTS: World Wide Wes Reportedly Trying To Recruit Bradley Beal To The Knicks

The New York Knicks haven’t traded for an All-Star since Carmelo Anthony in 2011. It appears that could be soon changing. Bradley Beal is currently on the Knicks’ radar and is sending their power broker to make it happen.

ESPN radio host Michael Kay reported this week that well-known Knicks executive William Wesley aka World Wide Wes is recruiting Beal to the team via backchannels.

“The Knicks have World Wide Wes on their side,” said Kay, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. “And he’s been in the ear of some of Beal’s people, and he’s kind of nudging them that this might be a time to push for a trade.”

Wesley, who is the Knicks’ executive vice president, was hired in June by longtime Creative Arts Agency associate Leon Rose.

While getting Beal to New York might sound like a long shot, it really isn’t anymore. The Knicks are in the playoff conversations and are quickly becoming an attractive destination. Beal’s current team, the Washington Wizard isn’t in the playoff conversation and hasn’t been for a very long time now.

The Knicks could offer a few first-round picks and some young assets to get Beal. Only time will tell if this is a move that can happen.
