Listen to Cage the Elephant’s ‘Broken Boy’ With an Iggy Pop Twist

Back in December, Cage the Elephant told Billboard to look out for an upcoming collaboration their song, "Broken Boys," with the hint that the artist on the track is "pop without being poppy and it's not Iggy Azalea."

All signs pointed to Iggy Pop, and the collab featuring the iconic rocker dropped on Thursday (Jan. 23). The lyrics and energetic melody remain the same on the new version, but this time, Iggy hops on the harmonies and takes over the second verse.

On working with Iggy, Cage the Elephant frontman Matt Schultz told NME that the rocker is “such a pioneer in so many fields: lyrically, culturally, poetically, visually, musically, and stylistically. Only a couple times in your life do you have the opportunity to share a moment with a visionary and beautiful human as he is.”

"Broken Boys" is featured on the group's 2019 album, Social Cues, which is up for best rock album at Sunday's (Jan. 26) Grammy awards.
