Sailing Soul(s) turns 10 this month. So, in honor of the anniversary, the singer is revisiting her debut mixtape.
For the first time, the mixtape will be on all streaming services! The mixtape was originally released on mixtape sites and SoundCloud on Jhené’s birthday, March 16, 2011. It featured collaborations with Drake (“July”), Kendrick Lamar(“Growing Apart Too”), and Miguel (“Hoe”). Three years later, her debut album Souled Out arrived.
During her appearance on Ellen on Monday, Jhené Aiko made the announcement when asked how she planned to celebrate her upcoming birthday.
“I have a special thing that I’m working on. It’s the 10th anniversary of my mixtape, Sailing Soul(s),” she said. “So I’m working on getting that together to put out to my fans on all streaming platforms.”
Even though it’s unclear when the project will be available, it could be as soon as this Friday, March 12. Check out her virtual interview with the talk show host Ellen down below.
In other news, the singer is now nominated for three Grammys for her latest album Chilombo. Additionally, Ms. Aiko will host the Premiere Ceremony prior to the 63rd annual Grammys on March 14, which will stream live on Grammy.com.
