The impeached American  but news his latest move had the internet concerned over an impending World War III. On Thursday, it was revealed that President Donald Trump ordered a drone airstrike in Iraq that resulted in the death the country’s commander the Quds Force, Major General Qassem Soleimani.

“At the direction the President, the U.S. military has taken decisive defensive action to protect U.S. personnel abroad by killing Soleimani, the head the  a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization,” the Department Defense reportedly said in a statement. “General Soleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region…s hundreds American and coalition service members and the wounding thousands more.”

The airstrike reportedly occurred atwas riding in his vehicle after returning from Syria. The Department Defense stated Soleimani was responsible for orchestrating “attacks on coalition bases in Iraq over the last several months — including the attack on December 27th — culminating in the death and wounding additional American and Iraqi personnel…The United States will continue to take all necessary action to protect our people and our interests wherever they are around the world.”
