We're less than a month away from the release the new . Interestingly enough, another movie surrounding dolls, Toy Story 4, is set to drop on the exact same day. Disney can't stoop to the level Chucky, especially since kids are watching but Orion Studios clearly have no trouble roasting the competition ahead the release their respective films. Earlier this month, they shared a teaser poster which showed Chucky  with the exact same aesthetic as the Toy Story 4 poster. In the latest poster, Chucky's seen roasting the bottom half slink dog over a fire. "Find out what’s really cooking," the caption read.

The reboot  Child's Play will include some upgrades from the original story. For one,  but apparently, it insists on being called Chucky. The director the film, Lars Klevberg, told Collider that the film is essentially like a "Greek tragedy."

“Chucky’s] motivation is understandable from his point view but also to us,” he said “We can understand why he’s behaving like that. For every great antagonist, that’s really interesting. Because if you understand the antagonist and his motivations, than you can identify with him.”

Klevberg recently revealed that the film will still have its trademark dark humor but it won't be "campy or silly."

"All the Child’s Play movies have some humor to it, but it needs to be integrated into the story. It needs to feel real and hit you so you laugh, but not because it’s silly," he said.
