Car Seat Headrest have been hinting at a creative collaboration with Smash Mouth for over a year, and Smash Mouth finally delivered on their end the covers swap last week with “Something Soon.” Now, Will Toledo and his band have reciprocated the musical love.
 
Car Seat Headrest have unveiled their take on “Fallen Horses,” a deep cut from 1999’s Astro Lounge.
 
It builds from a gently plucked acoustic jam into a fuzz distorted layers — and, frankly, sounds better than we thought a Smash Mouth song ever could.
